The big news around here is WHERE’S WALDO? Fifteen shops on Main Street have Waldo hidden in the store. It's Time to get your detective hats on and join the thrilling scavenger hunt at Talking Animals! Get a stamp for each shop where you spot Waldo in his red and white stripes, collect them all, and win a grand prize of goodies from the participating stores!
Celebrating its twelfth (12) anniversary in July 2024, Find Waldo Local has become a unique summertime event that brings communities nationwide together. This year, Candlewick Press and the American Booksellers Association are teaming up with 310 independent bookstores nationwide, including Grapevine’s Find Waldo host Talking Animals Books, to create a hide-and-seek adventure that everyone can join.
There is no charge to participate, and the hunt lasts for the entire month of July.
To join the fun, people can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Grapevine!” stamp card at Talking Animals. With each miniature Waldo they spot, searchers get their cards stamped or signed by the participating shop. Eagle-eyed hunters can also look for Waldo’s special 2024 gold medal hidden in Talking Animals Books! Collecting store stamps or signatures at fifteen businesses will be entered into a grand prize drawing for Waldo books and other prizes from local businesses.
In other news, “All Tracks Lead to Grapevine” is still in full swing. Embark on a prehistoric adventure as you look for the dinosaur tracks and scan the QR code when you're downtown. You’ll find a full list of stores participating in this citywide event celebrating everything prehistoric! Start your journey of discovery at the visitor’s center on Main!
For the first time, we have books on sale in the store! Grab your next beach read or that hardcover you’ve had your eye on but didn’t want to spend the full price!
Come say hi and get out of the heat. Aaron is back and missed you all!
We love you! I hope your summers are fun and full of stories to share.
